Holiday Food Drive

We will be doing a food drive again this year! We will be collecting money for the F.I.S.H. food pantry and collecting money to donate to Lutheran Church Charities (LCC).

With the holiday season right around the corner, the staff at Spring Hill Veterinary Clinic (SVC) would like to do our normal food drive as we have done in the past but with COVID-19 we have to limit those in our building so we are unable to collect actual goods for the food pantry this year. If you would like to donate actual items you can contact the food pantry directly. The one we have used before is F.I.S.H. (Friend I Shall Help) Food Pantry in Carpentersvilleclick here for more info on the food bank.  If you would like to give a cash donation to the food pantry, you can drop it off or mail it to our office. Dr. Goelitz on behalf of Spring Hill Veterinary Clinic will match dollar for dollar the amount of cash donations that our clients bring or mail to us. This would greatly help many unfortunate families in our area who surely can use help. We will collect donations thru December 19, 2020, so we can get to them before the Holidays.

In addition to the food drive,  as we have done before, we will take cash donations for Lutheran Church Charities. For every cash donation we get, we will also match dollar to dollar as a token of our appreciation to Lutheran Church Charities (LCC).  LCC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry to help support Christian human care ministries of the Church. They also have Golden Retriever dogs that use their skills to open opportunities to touch people with mercy and compassion. The dogs are specially trained comfort dogs to interact with people in ways that provide a bridge for compassionate ministry to take place. For more info visit  You can then look at the organization as a whole or you can click on the section for the dogs. You can also check out all the wonderful services these dogs preform through out the year. We at SVC work very closely with several of the LCC dogs!

In addition anyone else wishing to make a monetary contribution to LCC will receive an equal amount of credit (up to $20.00) on their SVC account for any future services.

COVID-19 Updates

We hope this finds you well and that you are continuing to stay healthy during the recent surge of COVID-19.  We want to outline a few changes that will be effective on Wednesday, October 28 in response to the recent increase in COVID cases in Kane and surrounding counties.

  1. We strongly encourage you to utilize curbside service for your appointments.  Please call 847-426-0550 when you arrive to check-in.  A staff member will then come out to your car to retrieve your pet.

  2. If you feel strongly about being present for your pet’s appointment, that still is an option on a limited basis. However, rather than waiting in our waiting room, you now will be asked to wait in your car until we are ready for your pet’s appointment. You will call to check in over the phone, and we will alert you when it is time to enter the building and will direct you immediately into an exam room. If diagnostic tests need to be performed, we will have you return to your car while we wait for the results.

  3. We will continue to utilize curbside service for all surgical drop-off and discharges and for all food and medication pick-ups.

Protocols and precautions that will remain the same are the following:

  1. A face mask must be worn at all times in the building-covering mouth and nose.

  2. One client per pet for those entering the building (exceptions will be made for end-of-life situations).

  3. If you or a family member is exhibiting COVID-like symptoms or have recently been sick, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment.

Thank you for your continued support and flexibility over the past 7 months.
